The Trouble with Thinking
Philippians 4:8-9
Series: The Colony | Robert Campbell
In this final exhortation section of the letter to the Philippians, Paul is commanding the church to apply what he has taught about the church being a colony of heaven in a place, a fellowship of gospel joy in a time of trouble.
When the church applies these exhortations, it will often result in some sort of trouble.
Here, he commands the church to think about that which is virtuous in regards to God and in regards to the church. Right thinking will always lead to right actions. The more we pour in that which is good, true and beautiful, the more its opposite will be pushed out. This is the trouble with thinking.
