Daily Bread and the Bread of Life
Leviticus 2:1-16

The word of God reminds us today that there is no such thing as an entitled Christian. At least, there shouldn’t be. What is required to be entitled is the opposite of what is fundamental to Christian faith and practice.

We are not claiming our rights, we are claiming Christ’s substitution. The Father laid His holy hands on the Lamb of God and our sin was taken away! Amen! Amen!

And today, with joy and gratitude, we are called to throw all that we have and all that we are on top of that burning sacrifice. Full consecration, full dedication of your whole life is the only reasonable response to substitution. It also happens to be both joyful and fruitful.
